Safe-cracker

This is what happens when you need your passports, birth certificates, and other important documents, but you discover that the batteries in the lock for the safe are dead and you have lost the key to access the battery compartment.  After getting started with the grinder I realized it was shooting all the sparks inside, and I figured we probably didn't want to burn up the passports, birth certificates, and marriage license.  So I had to get it started with the grinder and beat it out with hammers.  I don't think I will be quietly cracking safes anytime soon.

Paperwork

We have started working on getting all of our documents together as we continue to prepare to leave.  We got our fingerprints done for the FBI background check.  (Have we paid all of our parking tickets... ????)

Ready, Set, JUMP!

On Tuesday we had a truckload of dirt delivered.  The kids enjoyed jumping off of the deck onto the pile.  Of course Gabby sprained her ankle on her first and only jump.  After a couple hours of hard work, we improved the "curb appeal" of our house a little bit.

Praise The LORD

This morning in Sunday School class we studied Psalm 135 and I was encouraged to increase my praise for God.  (It was nice of the Psalmist to organize his thoughts in such a logical outline format :)

I.  Commanded to Praise:  “Praise the Lord.  Praise the name of the LORD; praise him, you servants of the LORD.” (vs. 1)  Note the imperative sentence.  That means it is a command to praise Him and the subject is the implied you.
            A.  Praise Him because…
                        1.  He is good:  “Praise the LORD for the LORD is good.” (vs. 3)
                        2.  It is pleasant:  “sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.”  (vs. 3)
                        3.  He has chosen Israel to be his treasured possession.  (vs.4)
                        4.  He is great, greatest, superior, above all else.  He is great because…(vs.5)
                                    a.  He does whatever pleases him in…
                                                *the heavens
                                                *the earth
*the seas  Note:  these three reveal that God is not limited in presence.  He does His will within all of creation.
                                    b.  He is above all people, kingdoms, governments (vs. 8-12)
                                    c.  He is eternal  (vs. 13)  Note:  He is not limited by time.
                                    d.  He isn’t like a powerless idol (vs. 13-18)
            B.  Praise Him.  Everyone  (vs. 19-21)

I praise you God and King because you are great and not limited by time, space, or man.  Praise you LORD for you are good.  To you be all glory, honor, and majesty.  I worship you in the splendor of your holiness.

A day at the soccer fields

We spent almost all day Saturday at the soccer fields.  Unfortunately one of the fields was an hour away from the others.  More to come from Rebekah's game.

Egg Hunt or Egg grab

We missed the egg hunt at church last year because of soccer games.  This year the girls and I joined the crowd of parents and kids on the church's lawn for the fun.

As you can see, calling it an egg "hunt" may be playing fast and loose with the English language.  They had a lot of fun nontheless.
