Traveling

Yesterday we drove from KY to PA and spent the night with Dwight Gibson

This morning we drove to the shipper in PA who is sending the motorcycle to Paraguay.  He said we should see it in 6 to 8 weeks.  I'm not holding my breath.

Unloading our luggage at the Washington Dulles airport.

We checked in 20 totes and we have 5 carry-on bags plus a backpack for each person.  The lady at the counter let out a sigh when she saw all the baggage.  She said to me, "You know this is going to be very expensive?"  Yes, yes I do.

If you notice the time, 45 minutes later we are down to the last four totes.  Whew!  Nothing left but to pay.  Lets hope they all get there!

What packing looks like

A picture best describes what packing for five people to live in another country looks like.

Yep, all our stuff will fit into 20 of these.

I know you're dying to know what we are putting in those 20 totes.  Besides the clothes you can see piled in the first picture here are a couple other things.  Lots of books for homeschooling and a cross-stitch I made when I was 17 that has now hung in four of my homes.  In a few short weeks I can make that five.

Crossing paths with family

On our loooong trip back to KY, we visited with Darin's cousin.  They serve the Lord in the Philippines and we probably will not see them for a few years.  PTL for the opportunity to enjoy hot dogs and s'mores.

A great ride

As we finished up our time with my parents, the girls of the family enjoyed a beautiful ride through the forest of Flagstaff, AZ.

What a memory we made, Mom, with the girls.

Henna

As we finished up school, one of my tutors, Marlet, shared her talent of drawing henna.  She uses these drawings to share the gospel with people at the flea market.   She has a captive audience for about thirty minutes as she draws and shares about the meaning of each story.

This is what it looked like the next day.  Starting at my wrist, the half-circle represents the empty tomb after Jesus' resurrection.  The pyramid leading to the cross represents the persecution that will be in the last days before Jesus' second coming (represented by the cross).  At His second coming He will return as King to rule (the crown, it somewhat looks like a Hershey Kiss).  The vines going off my fingers represent that Jesus will make all things new when He returns.

Even as I look at this picture which has long since faded from my skin, I am awed by the love, power, and holiness of God.  I see His power in the empty tomb, His love in the cross, and His holiness in the promise of all things being made new, without the stain of sin.  What a day, glorious day that will be.
