Henna

As we finished up school, one of my tutors, Marlet, shared her talent of drawing henna.  She uses these drawings to share the gospel with people at the flea market.   She has a captive audience for about thirty minutes as she draws and shares about the meaning of each story.

This is what it looked like the next day.  Starting at my wrist, the half-circle represents the empty tomb after Jesus' resurrection.  The pyramid leading to the cross represents the persecution that will be in the last days before Jesus' second coming (represented by the cross).  At His second coming He will return as King to rule (the crown, it somewhat looks like a Hershey Kiss).  The vines going off my fingers represent that Jesus will make all things new when He returns.

Even as I look at this picture which has long since faded from my skin, I am awed by the love, power, and holiness of God.  I see His power in the empty tomb, His love in the cross, and His holiness in the promise of all things being made new, without the stain of sin.  What a day, glorious day that will be.
