School Work

In our public speaking class we have papers with various requirements that we write then read to the class.  One of the papers was about using an object to teach a Biblical truth.  Here's what I did.

Based on the parable of the Sower and the Seed (Lk 8), I planted the four types of soil Jesus describes:  packed, rocky, weedy, and rich.  As you can see from the weak and non-existent plants above, only the rich soil, cup #4, has what it takes to produce a crop.

I really enjoyed this project because it made me realize just how effective Jesus' use of stories and images was.  How much greater understanding one has of the different types of responses to the Bible when they can compare their heart to the types of soil.  I pray that my heart will always be like cup #4.

By the way, I did choose my seed packet according to which green beans are the best.  Yeah, KY.
